This "cat's been in the bag* " (" *tune has been in the machine" - you might have interpreted that some other way) for a while now, as I've been busy with my mates picking up some favorite vintage rock tunes from Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Rick Derringer, and other legendary artists.
It's been so long since I added anything new here...you were probably wondering: "Why does he do it? How does he do it? When will he do it again??!!!"
Hey, to tell you the truth, I've absolutely no idea what you were wondering, just as long as you stay in your own lane while I'm making my way back from Chicago (hereafter referred to as "jobland" or "The Batcave") to that great city on the runny old Fox River, Batavia (fanfare).
So I've finally decided to let it go ("let the cat out of the bag", as it were) on an otherwise unsuspecting public, but not you...no, I know you were suspecting something was up!
It's an introspective kind of piece, more or less just gathering my thoughts together so I could just toss them back out into the wind and watch them fly...right out of your speakers and into your very own personally perceived reality.
Okay, enough of this psychobabble. Let me just say I'm glad to be "Here With You"!
Got a brand new master She’s a little bit faster than before
There’s a greener pasture And she waits just past your front door
Why would I ever wind up dreaming of writing rhymes in the sky?
Dreams that hide behind a stained-glass ceiling
Tell me why
All my life I’m makin’ my own way
Yeah, that’s right I got nothin’ more to say...
You and I were meant to always be together - I know this to be true
Lord, I pray that I could stay forever
Here with you
I hear the music and I see delight in the faces of every child
We can make it…learn not to fight We could grow wise and stay wild
Babe, you could change my life overnight
If you met me
And then you let me
You could get me
Right where you want me to be
And on time
Now wouldn’t that be nice
And so fine
Make me want to do it twice
Or maybe one time, right now!
