Banana Moon

Classic rock lunacy with appeal

Something funky ©2008 david moody

This was a long time in the making.  Sometimes it takes a while to work up a collaboration to it's completion.  The last couple of tracks were recorded over Thanksgiving weekend 2009 with my special friend Tim.  It was originally written back in '97, and with some revisions to the lyrics and structure, it's the first piece I put together on my new 24-track.  I hope you like it!

Keyboards: Tim Albert

I'm in the mood for something funky to go with the mood I'm in        A new attitude, and I'm no one's monkey - swinging from limb to limb        Sitting there glued to the boob-tube baby, waiting for life to begin     There's a world outside     So let's take a ride

I'm heading out for that new horizon: a place where I might fit in        Time for a change, and that's not surprisin':  tired of this fool that I've been        Shed my disguise and I'm realizin' we had some thick and thin        Baby let love show      Maybe they don't know

Sunbeam is bustin' out of that prism - colors my empty room        I won't complain and you won't listen    Turn up that funky tune       Back at the shack with my axe I'm makin' tracks with the man in the moon        And that's how I play     Guess I'm just that way
