good times    rockin' easy    I wonder...why don't we go on the road - we could make some bread        I'll be fine....    just release me    I understand what we want to be, and who we are instead

backyard superstars rockin dad's garage    got the posters and a fridge and a metal massage    are we makin it big or is it just a mirage?

all those years    thought we'd make it    but something big and bad, Lord - must've got in the way           got no tears    I can take it    just one thing I said I had...I still have to say

down in the basement it's the same old song, but there ain't no replacement for workin hard and long     still I never get complacent - something's sure to go wrong      gotta love it while it happens, too soon it'll all be gone

there ain't no right or wrong about it     somebody should write a song about it     maybe the neighbors could live without it     we never asked     so park that ego in the driveway    you know it only gets in my way     they hear us playin' on the highway    just drivin past          windows down, wide open and movin fast       they hear those

backyard superstars and karoake kings     do you really want to hear it?    did your spirit grow some wings?     just get up there, baby and break a leg     we got meat on the grill and we've still got one more keg
